Five theories of language acquisition

In this chapter it discussed the five theories of language acquisition. Behavioral, is language learned through imitation. Linguistic, is inborn ability for language. Semantic-Cognitive, meaning precedes structure, same utterance can have multiple meanings or cognition precedes language. Pragmatic- Interactionist, the need to communicate precedes language structures. Information Processing, is where language structures emerge from commutative functions, individual matches form to function.
