Just a reminder that even though we did not have class tonight your language projects are STILL DUE next Monday, April 16th. They are due electronically through Blackboard. You will have until MIDNIGHT to complete them. There is no reason to miss class to finish them up, however!
I will be available next Sunday to do a Finishing Touches dinner in Richmond if anyone needs last minute help going over their project. I'll have dinner at O'Charley's at 4:00. Anyone who wants any type of assistance or to hang out with me while I'm grading can meet me there.
You are WELCOME to post questions, clauses, etc. here to get feedback as well.
Dr. White would it be ok if I emailed you my summary it is the only thing I have left and I wanted to make sure I meet all the requirements.
ReplyDeleteYes, ma'am.
ReplyDeletePart of my Language Sample has hand writing on it because I was not able to type a little bit of it. Should I turn it in in class and online?
ReplyDeleteI may be reading too much into the outline for the Analysis of Pragmatics, but my question is from the handout we got it class it talks about writing a summary of the child's conversational skills under Part 1, and then write a 3-5 paragraph summary that talks about the child's pragmatic skills, which I understand. But on the example from blackboard the summary section is only one paragraph. I understand I need to give as much information as needed to describe the child's skills, but I just dont want to keep repeating the same information over and over to reach a certain paragraph quota. So with giving the summary do we need to go by handout in class, or blackboard, or just kinda combine both to make sure all information is reported? Sorry hope I haven't confused you.
ReplyDeleteI really need to have the Language Projects submitted electronically. It's simply too much to grade these if they are submitted in hard copy.
ReplyDeleteThe handout given in class is what you need to use. It has been revised since the sample projects.
ReplyDeleteThere is a DIFFERENCE. The first is a summary of the conversational skills in the chart.
The final summary includes both the conversational skills as well as the functions of language. You are including ALL of the pragmatic skills.
