The Blind Side
So in class we were talking about how a teacher can make the difference in weather or not the student can progress. Over the weekend I was watching The Blind Side and it made me think about this class. Michael's teacher is wonderful because she goes out of her way to help him learn. She even gives him the tests orally and she knows that he is listening to what she is teaching. I wish that there were more teachers out there like her!

I saw that movie for the first time last weekend and I really liked it. It's amazing how one person's actions can change the life of another.

ReplyDeleteThat is such an amazing movie! I think the teachers and all the adult characters are very supportive of Michael and go out of their way to help him succeed.
ReplyDeleteIt is an amazing movie and if more teacher were like her then I think students would be more likely to look up to their teachers and come to them if they need help. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a great point, I just now remembered that part! I love that movie and I love how the teacher does make a difference in his life, as well as Leigh Ann (Sandra Bullock) and her family. Even though none of the other teachers believe in him and don't believe anything good can come from him, she does!
ReplyDeleteI have not seen the movie, but I am so thankful for the teachers my children have this year. My son had a really rough year last year. He did not have any problems with academics, he was actually bored and he hated going to school. This year the teacher has been so wonderful and worked with him, he loves her. My daughter also loves her teacher as well. Both of their teachers have taken so much interest in their students, I truly wish this kind of environment for each child. When the teachers look beyond what others think is hopeless they can find something truly amazing in the children they serve.
ReplyDeleteJust so funny, how channel surfing came across the movie!! I think this is a wonderful movie. So I had to watch it. So many things we could learn from this movie when relating to the children we work with each day.
